Career Trajectory
Bio
I am a Professor at the School of Medical and Health Science, Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia and co-lead the Graduate Certificate in Neurological Rehabilitation. My background is as a neurological physiotherapist, educator and researcher. I have worked clinically in Auckland, NZ, and Perth WA in a range of acute neurology and neurosurgery and rehabilitation settings.
Previously I co-ordinated a postgraduate program for physiotherapists with a special interest in the management of adults with neurological disorders at another university in WA from 2004-2016. My post graduate qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Neuroscience (Curtin University, 1987), Masters of Health Science (‘An evaluation of neuromuscular electrical stimulation in the treatment of the hemiplegic shoulder’, Curtin University, 1990) and PhD (‘Equinovarus deformity of the ankle following acquired brain injury in adults’, UWA, 2002).
I am a Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists (Original Contribution) (2011), and am currently co-Vice President of the Australian College of Physiotherapists.
