Career Trajectory
Bio
Dr. Bin Li has much experience in energy storage/conversion, ceramic science and engineering, composite materials, optical materials, catalytic materials and growth of thin films as well as synthesis of nanostructured materials. During his PhD, he carried out research works on solid ceramic ion conductors for fuel cells. At PNNL and INL, his research expanded to wider electrochemical and optical fields. He led the research focused on the development of next-generation aqueous redox flow batteries (including electrolytes, electrode and membranes), Li ion battery (Li-S and Li metal) and zinc ion battery in the field of grid/transportation energy storage, and organic/inorganic composite materials in the field of thermos-optic technologies. He serves as the R&D lead on energy storage at INL now.
