Bertrand Iooss

Bertrand Iooss received the Ph.D. thesis in geo-statistics at the Paris School of Mines (1998) and an habilitation thesis in statistics at Toulouse University (2009). He works as a Senior Researcher in industrial statistics at Electricité de France (EDF), having managed (2015–2021) a research project named “Uncertainty quantification and machine learning” for electricity production needs, in particular for the nuclear industry. His main research works involve the design, analysis, modeling, uncertainty quantification and validation of computer experiments, related to nuclear safety and environmental problems. He is currently interested in the topics of inter-pretability and validation of machine learning techniques.
