Bio
Dr. Azemtsop was born in Cameroon and received his B.Sc. in physics and Master’s degree in physics (Material science) in 2013 and 2016, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in physics with an option in electrochemistry and energy storage. He became a teaching assistant and lab mentor at Sharda University in the Department of Physics. Dr. Azemtsop is a researcher who focuses on the development of new conducting polymer electrolytes for high-performance supercapacitors and advanced batteries. He is working towards improving electrolytes' electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties for electrochemical device applications. He designs new smart electrodes using high surface area materials and/or high operating voltage materials for high capacity and energy density batteries and supercapacitors. He creates theories and ideas to identify problems in electrochemical devices. He suggests alternatives to suitable materials to overcome some issues related to the device’s performance. He characterizes and implements data to design low-cost, smart, and clean materials for sustainable energy storage and conversion devices. To this end, Dr. Azemtsop focuses on four major topics: 1. Large-scale energy storage in batteries to enable renewable energy generation 2. Development of advanced materials and systems to enable commercialization of high-energy-density Supercapacitor and battery technologies 3. Developing light, flexible, and solid electrolytes for solid-state batteries and supercapacitors using ionic liquids and some organic plasticizers 4. Develop new smart electrodes for electrochemical energy storage using the four approaches: cationic substitution, surface modification, new electrode materials, and polymeric materials for supercapacitors, batteries, and solid electrochemical energy storage devices. Dr. Azemtsop has conducted many projects, published several research papers, is the author of a book, and has an applied patent. He also has experience conceiving, characterizing, and simulating thin-film photovoltaic solar cells using SCAPS-1D software.
