Bio
I conduct scientific research in the fields of Basic Medical Sciences, Biochemistry, Toxicology, and Phytomedicine. I have earned 10+ years’ postgraduate experience teaching and carrying out research Biomedical Sciences with 23 published articles, >500 citations and an h‐index of 10 (Google Scholar®). I am particularly interested in contributing to the Bio-economy through the development of innovative nutraceuticals, functional foods and other natural products useful in the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.
Summary of Qualifications
◾ PhD degree in Biochemistry, 2 years post-doc and 5+ years work experience in Chronic Diseases research.
◾ Strong expertise in Type II diabetes & microvascular complications, Cancer, and arthritis research.
◾ Proficient in mammalian cell culture, in vivo (rodent) models, and cell-based assay development.
◾ Project management skills in designing, planning, and executing experiments; carrying out high-throughput biological processes (independently or in teams) and communicating project updates and deliverables.
◾ Proficient in the use of biochemistry and molecular methods e.g., spectrophotometry, enzyme analyses, cell/tissue immunostaining, Western blotting, and ELISA laboratory techniques.
◾ Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving, interpersonal, relationship, teamwork, leadership & strategy skills.
◾ Proven skills in communicating, analyzing, and presenting data to colleagues, industry partners, and management teams for effective decision-making.
◾ Expertise in developing standard operating procedures, maintenance manuals, start-up procedures, etc., while recognizing opportunities for improvements and innovation.
◾ Excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication and presentation skills.
