Prof. Karadag is the Dean of School of Nursing at Koç University. In addition to her 26 years of academic career, she has been holding several administrative positions for 15 years. Her research interests are Fundamental of Nursing, Process of Professionalization in Nursing and Gender, Special Branch Nursing Ethics and Chronic Wound Managament.
She received her BSN, MSN and PhD in Fundamentals of Nursing from Hacettepe University. Between 1992-1999, she worked at Hacettepe University as a Research Assistant. During 2000-2014, she worked at Gazi University where she was appointed to Professorship in 2011. Since 2015, she has been working at Koç University School of Nursing as a full-time faculty. She has been serving as a Dean for the last two years.
Prof. Karadag completed the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (WOCN) Certified Training Program (formerly Enterostomal Therapy ET / WOCN) in 2003, at R. B. Turnbull Jr., School of WOC Nursing Program at the Cleveland Clinic. She worked to improve Stoma and Wound Care Nursing in Turkey and pioneered the creation of new formations.
Following the establishment of the first stomatherapy unit in 2000, she initiated the Stoma and Wound Care Nursing Certified Training Program in 2001. She has founded and chaired the Wound, Ostomy and Incontinence Nurses Society in Turkey. In 2018, she was elected President of Wound Managemnet Association of Turkey.
She is the Turkish Delegate of World Council of Enterostomal Therapists and member of European Wound Management Association.
Prof. Karadag has plenty of scientific prizes and articles published in national and international peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Clinical Nursing, British Journal of Dermatology; book chapters, books and consensus documents. She has been in several national and international conferences such as European Council of Enterostomal Therapists and EWMA 2018 Conferences; congresses like WCET Biennal, ECET Congresses; symposiums as a chair, keynote speaker, organizing, executive or scientific committee member.
Currently chair of both well recognized associations in Turkey which are Wound Management Association and Wound Ostomy Incontinence Nurses Association.
