Bio
Dr. Aurélie Mosse is a design-led researcher and professor at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD). Co-head of the Soft Matters research group in Ensadlab - the research laboratory of EnsAD-, her research is practice-based, sitting at the intersection of textile design, architecture and self-actuated materials with a focus on exploring how new materials and new technologies can inform more resilient and poetic perspectives of inhabitation. She is the principal investigator and coordinator of ImpressioVivo, a project focused on the 3D printing of biomaterials induced by luminescent and calcifying bacteria for circular design applications funded by the French National Agency for Research (ANR) through its young researcher programme (JCJC) . In 2015, she completed an interdisciplinary design-led PhD at the Centre for IT & Architecture, Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, investigating the design of three-dimensionally dynamic textiles for the home based on photovoltaic, electro-active and light-responsive technologies. In the textile & matter design department of EnsAD, she is responsible for the 1st year MA and overall in charge of introducing students to new materials and new technologies, research methods as well as sustainable challenges.
