Career Trajectory
Bio
Dr Atal Shivhare obtained his PhD in 2015 under the supervision of Prof.
Robert Scott at the University of Saskatchewan. During his PhD, he worked
on the synthesis and activation of atomically precise Au and bimetallic
clusters for catalysis. Additionally, he also gained significant experience on
synchrotron based XANES and EXAFS at the Canadian light source.
Following this, he joined the research group of Prof. Adam F Lee and Prof.
Karen Wilson at the Aston University in 2015 as postdoctoral research
fellow, and worked on the hydrodeoxygenation of lignin model compounds over supported Pt catalysts. After completing his 1st postdoc at Aston, Dr Atal joined IIT Ropar, Punjab as Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellow under the supervision of Dr. Rajendra, where he continued gaining skills on the development of cost-effective heterogeneous catalytic processes for biomass valorization. After completing 2 years contract, Dr. Shivhare is now continuing as Postdoctoal Research Fellow in the same group on an industrially sponsored project based on the development of zeolites and MOFs based materials for direct CO2 capture from air.
