Bio
Asghar Heydari Astaraee is an assistant professor at Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering since January 2022. He obtained his Master of Science in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) in 2012 and received his Ph.D. degree in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from TMU in 2018. During his Ph.D., he investigated the “modeling of surface nanostructuring of metals using severe plastic deformation techniques” and also participated in a six-month research period at PoliMi. After he finished his Ph.D. studies, he started a three-year postdoctoral research fellowship in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at PoliMi in January 2019. He has been involved in several research projects, especially in the machine and vehicle design sector. He has been carrying out teaching activities since 2015 in several courses. He co-supervised many MSc students at PoliMi and has been the author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific papers and one book chapter in diverse areas of materials and mechanical engineering.
