Prof. Dr. Asaad Khalid works at the Substance Abuse and Toxicology Research Center, Jazan University, KSA since Nov. 2013. Prof. Asaad is the winner of the AU-TWAS Young Scientists National Award 2011 (awarded by African Union & TWAS) & the Pakistan Academy of Medical Sciences (PAMS) Junior Gold Medal Award-2005 for the best biomedical research conducted during 2004-2005. Prof. Asaad is an active researcher; he supervised 25 Ph.D. and M.Sc. graduates. The research of Prof. Asaad focuses on substances of abuse and medicinal plants based drug discovery that utilizes in vitro target/cell-based and in silico approaches and targeting several tropical and neglected diseases. Prof. Asaad has been teaching several courses to under/post-graduate in several Sudanese universities in Sudan/KSA.
