个人简介
Nature and its physical phenomenon have always attracted me and the curiosity to explore their origins have pushed me towards the experimental world. The creative and experimental environment that I experienced during my childhood and the interest in Physics that I developed during my high school motivated me to pursuit my goal of unravelling and understanding the physics of nature.
Devi Ahilya University, Indore with a collaborative work at UGC-DAE, CSR Indore and experience gained as a independent researcher in serval world's leading research Institute (Max-Planck Institute for solid state research, ibs-CCES, TIFR-Mumbai and IISER-TVM) provided me with the platform to take a leap forward in that direction. I had worked as a research intern at different laboratories and in different fields of research to get a broad research exposure.
Research interest and expertise:
I am working in an area of condensed matter which deals crystal growth and new materials synthesis. My research interest is to design and search new quantum materials (inorganic compounds), and study their emergent phenomena by using various experimental techniques. It includes crystal growth by various methods, detailed study of crystal structures and characterizing their physical properties of the compounds. However, the novel methods developed for the synthesis of the new compounds are used for preparation of conventional ceramics and inorganic materials in order to improve their qualities and performances. As the single-crystals of many materials or quantum materials are grown at high temperatures. A particularly useful technique employs an Optical Floating Zone (OFZ) furnace, which can go up to several thousand degrees centigrade (˚C). The OFZ features attracts for materials scientist is, this technique avoids any contamination from using a crucible at very high temperature and can be used to grow large single-crystals of complex oxides, which include cuprates, cobaltites, borates, manganates, orthoferrites, metals and other materials. My current research-projects interest is finding crystal growth routes for quantum materials. For instance low-dimensional magnetic systems with quantum-spins so called “quantum magnets” where entanglement of spin, lattice and orbitals may introduce quantum cooperative phenomena in solids are of great interest in condensed-matter physics and are currently an area of much active research due to their novel magnetic properties.
