Arup K. Mandal

Arup Kumar Mandal received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering, IIT(BHU) Varanasi, Varanasi, India, in 2017. He was with the KIC Metaliks Limited, Durgapur, West Bengal, Sree Metaliks Ltd., Barbil, Orissa, TATA Metaliks Ltd., Kharagpur, West Bengal and as an Capacity of Foreman to Assistant Manager from 2000 to 2009. He has been a Technical Officer with the Department of Metallurgical Engineering, IIT(BHU) Varanasi, since 2009. He has authored or co-authored 26 technical papers in journals, one book chapter, and four papers in proceedings. His current research interests include agglomeration, direct reduced iron, smelting reduction, plasma technology for metallurgical use, and metallurgical waste recycling. Dr. Mandal is a Life Member of the Indian Institute of Metals, the Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers, the Institution of Engineers India, and the Indian Society for Technical Education. He was a recipient of the Best Employee Award by TATA Group in 2007 for contributing companywide initiative.
