Bio
Dr Armstrong I. Omoregie is a Nigerian citizen. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria and spent most of his adolescent years in Abuja, Nigeria, before moving to Malaysia in 2007 to further his tertiary education. His doctoral thesis (A feasibility study to scale-up the production of Sporosarcina pasteurii, using industrial-grade reagents, for cost-effective in-situ biocementation) was nominated for the lain Wallace Research Medal by the Swinburne University of Technology in 2020.
Dr Omoregie started his career as an Academic Researcher as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus from January 2021 to June 2021 with Ir Dr Lock Hei Ngu on MICP. Dr Omoregie was later awarded a Post-Doctoral Fellowship position in July 2021 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, where he is currently working with Prof Khalida Muda on biocementation and Biogranulation.
Dr Omoregie's expertise is in soil biocementation, microbial urease, MICP, and waste utilization. He also has a robust background in standard safety procedures, processes, and regulations to ensure quality control and assessment. He is dedicated to delivering top-quality work through creative problem solving and innovative solutions. Dr Omoregie has a strong research interest in wastewater treatment through biogranulation, bioremediation, enzymology, applied microbiology, bioprospecting, and environmental biotechnology.
