My present scientific interests include:
Electronic structure calculations;
Atomistic simulations of various bulk and nanosystems at empirical potential, tight-binding and density-functional theory levels;
Interaction of energetic particles with nanosystems;
Growth of graphene and related materials;
Defects in carbon nanomaterials; effects of the irradiation on the mechanical and electronic properties of carbon nanomaterials;
Inorganic two-dimensional materials;
Magnetism in carbon systems doped with non-magnetic impurities such as nitrogen and hydrogen;
Theory of scanning tunneling microscope (STM); simulation of STM images of surfaces with various atomic-scale defects.
