Bio
Dr. Antonio J. Muñoz-Montoro obtained a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Málaga in 2015 and a PhD degree (International Mention) with the grade of outstanding cum laude from the University of Jaén in 2020. From September 2017 to January 2021, he held a FPI scholarship from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain, working on research and teaching in the field of Signal Theory and Communications in the Department of Telecommunications Engineering (University of Jaén). From April 2020 to January 2021, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Jaén. From September 2020 to August 2021, he worked as a professor at the Universidad a Distancia de Madrid (UDIMA). From October 2018 to August 2021, he worked as a lecturer at the UNED Associated Center "Andrés de Vandelvira" in the province of Jaén. Finally, from February 2021, he works as an assistant professor in the field of Computer Architecture and Technology in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oviedo.
His scientific activity focuses on audio processing, particularly in the area of musical and biomedical signals, and their applications. In terms of productivity, he is the co-author of 25 scientific contributions in international journals and conferences. He has also actively participated in a European research project, various national research projects, several research projects with companies, and two educational innovation projects. He has been a member of the "Signal and Telecommunications Systems" research group (TIC188) at the University of Jaén since 2017, and is currently a member of the "Quantum and High Performance Computing" research group at the University of Oviedo.
In order to share knowledge with other international research groups, he completed part of his PhD thesis at the Audio Research Group (ARG) of Tampere University of Technology (Finland), and carried out a postdoctoral stay at the Audio Analysis Lab of Aalborg University (Denmark) and another postdoctoral stay at the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics of the University of Udine (Italy), all of which are active groups in his research area.
Regarding his teaching experience, he has taught over 600 hours in Telecommunications Engineering and Computer Science, both theory and lab practice. He has also been a coordinator of several subjects and actively participated in the development of teaching materials in many of them.
