Graduated in Psychology (Plan 2001) by the University of Salamanca (USAL, 2008-2013) and has two master's degrees: the Master's Degree in Integration of People with Disabilities. Quality of Life (USAL, 2015) and the Master's Degree in Teacher Training - Educational Guidance Section (Valencian International University, 2014). Dr. Amor earned is PhD (International mention) in Psychology (R.D. 99/2011) from USAL, with outstanding cum laude and extraordinary doctorate award. His doctoral thesis has been awarded the 1st prize (ex-aequo) from the Royal Academy of Doctors of Spain (2020) as the "best thesis dissertation pertaining social inclusion of persons with disabilities".
Dr. Amor earned the prestigious predoctoral fellowship ‘University Professor Training Program’ across national-level competitive call (Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports, 2014-2018). As a part of his research training to achieve his PhD, Dr. Amor has been a predoctoral research visitor at the Beach Center on Disabilities (University of Kansas, United States of America, 3 months and a half) and the Akademia Pedagogiki Specjalnej im. Marii Grzegorzewskiej (Poland, 3 months). In 2020 Dr. Amor earned a postdoc possition (accross competitive call) at the USAL, but the renounced to the position because he earned a place as an assistant professor at said university (also under a competitive call).
Member of the Institute for Community Inclusion of the University of Salamanca since 2013, his main research line is focused on how to best achieve an alignment between the United Nation’s Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Supports Paradigm, and the Quality of Life Model for children and adolescents with intellectual and closely related developmental disabilities. Dr Amor has made around 80 contributions to congresses and scientific conferences at regional, national, and international level, and he has participated actively in different R&D Projects also regarding regional, national, and international levels. He has published over 25 articles in high-impact, peer-reviewed scientific journals indexed in Journal Citation Reports and Scopus, and he is a reviewer of different journals indexed in such indexes.
His teaching activity is performed at the University of Salamanca, where he is the responsible professor of the subjects "Individual Differences", which is a compulsory subject taught in the 2nd year of the Degree in Psychology; and "Sports Psychology", an optional subject taught in the 4th year of the same degree. Likewise, he is responsible, since the 2021/2022 academic year, for the subject "Evaluation and Intervention in Adults and the Elderly", taught in the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology, and is also responsible (since the 2022/2023 academic year) for the "Environment and Participation" subject course, taught in the University Master's Degree in Disability Research. Since the 2021/2022 academic year, he coordinates, together with the Cefire of Inclusive Education of the Valencian Community, the 30-hour course "Socio-psycho-pedagogical evaluation and supports planning based on interaction "student x environment", a course that is taught every semester, and currently on its 5th edition. The teaching activity is reinforced through regular attendance at training courses in teaching skills and through the participation and direction of teaching innovation projects, to energize the teaching to be taught.
