Bio
Anthony W Ryan graduated with a BSc (Zoology & Molecular Population Genetics) from NUI, Galway and a PhD (Molecular Population Genetics) from University College Dublin, Ireland. He has worked at the University of Milan, Italy, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway and the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig, Germany, before returning to Ireland to work at Trinity College Dublin in 2002. Industry roles have included Genuity Science (2017-2023) and Nucleome Therapeutics (2023 to date), where he is currently a Senior Principal Statistical Geneticist working on complex traits. His research focuses on genomics, and aims to understand how genetic variation and gene expression give rise to differences in disease susceptibility among individuals. He has published over 50 research articles and has edited a book titled “Celiac Disease Methods and Protocols” (Springer), which was published in 2015.
