个人简介
Dr. Anthony Leow is currently the Assistant Director (Capability and Industry) at the Centre for Educational Development (CED) of Republic Polytechnic (RP). He completed his PhD at the University of Queensland on an Australia Government International Postgraduate Research Scholarship researching on the interface between public health and education policies. He was a recipient of the Ministry of Education (MOE) Teaching Award and graduated from the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for his undergraduate studies, majoring in Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy. At NTU, he won the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal for being ranked first in in general proficiency among his cohort throughout the course of study and for attaining 1st Class Honours. He was also awarded the Singapore National Olympic Council Gold Medal for being the best trainee PE teacher specialising in sports studies. In addition, Anthony was a past recipient of the International Association for Physical Education in Higher Education (AIESEP) Young Scholar Award and the Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE) Postgraduate Student Research Award for his undergraduate and postgraduate research respectively.
Prior to joining RP, Anthony was serving the public education sector in MOE as an education officer. Following his doctoral studies, he was posted to MOE HQ where he specialised in the professional development of teachers at the Academy of Singapore Teachers (AST) and subsequently the Physical Education and Sports Teacher Academy (PESTA) where he engaged in research capacity building, conceptualisation and quality assurance of MOE’s professional development programmes. For his contributions to the professional development of teachers in Singapore, he was awarded the Associate of the Academy of Singapore Teachers. In the field of academic research, Anthony has presented and published his research in international conferences and peer-reviewed journals. Most recently, he was one of the Principal Investigators for a Workforce Development Applied Research Grant funded by the Institute of Adult Learning that seeks to study the alignment of polytechnic provision of continuous education and training (CET) in alignment with the national SkillsFuture initiative. His current research interests include adult learning, workplace learning and the effective provisions of CET.
