Career Trajectory
Bio
I had my clinical training (internship and fellowship) between Italy and France in Internal medicine and Medical Oncology. Most of that time has been spent in the care of patients, their psychological and clinical support, finding new drugs, above all in Soft tissue and bone sarcoma and GIST field, being personally involved in more than 50 phase 2 and 3 clinical trials, some of which having permitted FDA approval of drugs effective in these orphan diseases. I have been a "clinical mentor" for medical students, fellows and residents at Gustave Roussy Institut in France during my 8 years of practice overthere. My experience is predominantly clinical with fewer but sure knowledge in how to create a clinical trial and a research program, many ideas but poor practice.
I decided to move in New York at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, with Dr Robert Maki, as a Research Program Coordinator in a field that for me is very "familial" like the Sarcoma, in order to put aside for a while the clinic, advancing knowledge in basic research, developing new treatments for this disease and pushing back the boundaries of the unknown.
