个人简介
Ângela Barreto (AB) is an Assistant Researcher (Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus (CEEC) 2018 - FCT) at the Department of Biology & CESAM (University of Aveiro), coordinating the research project "NPls-RESpONSE: towards a more REalistic ScenariO: toxicity of NanoplaStics at Environmentally relevant concentrations in combination with other contaminants". Awarded with a FCT scholarship, she finished her PhD in Biology on 30th November of 2018 (University of Aveiro). AB presents a solid background in the Ecotoxicology area, understanding the toxic effects of mixtures of anthropogenic contaminants, such as nanomaterials and pharmaceuticals, for both aquatic and soil organisms. AB has 31 publications in SCI journals ranking in top quartile (average IF: 6.504): 24 in the last 5 years, 17 of them as first author (or co- first author), 7 as corresponding author and a book chapter (first author), with more than 525 citations and a h-index=12. In the last 5 years, she made an average of 2 communications per year (poster or oral platform) in relevant international conferences (e.g. SETAC, EUROTOX, ISTA). AB is deeply involved in the organization/participation of science communication/dissemination activities (e.g. national events as Summer Academy and Encontro Ciência; involvement in radio broadcasts). She is proponent of the winning project "For a planet with less plastic" funded by OPAD (Participatory Budget with Direct Action, 2021/2022), Aveiro Tech. She already supervised several students/research fellows (in progress: 1 PhD and 1 BSc student; concluded: 24). She is frequently guest editor of special issues in different journals (e.g. MDPI journals) and reviewer of several journals (e.g. Chemosphere and Science of Total Environment; permanent reviewer of MDPI journals). AB consistently designs research projects and contributes/coordinates applications to submit to highly competitive calls (including international calls) for the acquisition of external funding. She often intergrates several research projects (currently: 1) and maintains a multidisciplinary networking (national and international), giving important contributions about the mechanisms of toxicity of emerging contaminants to model organisms.
