A. C. K. Wu

The ultimate motivation in medical research is discovery and translation. I received my Ph.D from The University of Queensland in 2007 which was on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, with the aim to develop biological implant material for orthopaedic applications. I worked as a research academic for 12 years in several prominent research institutes within Australia. My academic career explored immune modulation of skeletal fracture regeneration and bone cancer metastasis. The goal was to devise therapeutic strategies for the management of skeletal diseases and to improve patient outcomes. I'm experienced in the management of complex multi-disciplinary research projects and skilled in the discipline of flow cytometry, histology, microscopy and pre-clinical imagining. I have formed successful collaborations and contributed to small body of literature which advanced the knowledge of my research discipline. I enjoyed teaching and learning of new technologies. I have provided training and mentoring to over 30 undergraduate and higher degree students and junior research staff.
