Bio
Andrew N. Smith received the B.S.E. degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University, Villanova, PA, USA, in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, USA, in 2001.
He is currently a Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, USA. He has authored in the areas of microscale heat transfer and electronics cooling. His current research includes IR-based measurement of thermal interfacial resistances, thermal boundary resistance measurements using ultrafast optical techniques, and the thermodynamics of pyroelectric power generation.
