Andreia Peixoto is Assistant reasearcher (2020.01614.CEECIND: 3rd edition of FCT Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus) at Laboratório Associado para a Química Verde LAQV-REQUIMTE, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Faculty of Sciences(DQB-FCUP), University of Porto (Portugal). PhD in Chemistry (2011) at University of Coimbra, Faculty of Sciences and Technology with FCT fellowship FCT: SFRH/BD/29681/2006. She is co-author of 59 publications in peer-reviewed international journals in the areas of catalysis and materials science and organic/inorganic chemistry. She is also co-author of 4 Book Chapters. She is author and co-author of 30 oral and more than 40 poster communications in national and international conferences. She is PI of the exploratory project (EXPL/BII-BIO/0436/2021): Bio-based amines from marine shells waste through catalytic sustainable processes; She was/is researcher member of 10 R&D projects and was awarded with 2 fellowships as young researcher. She is member of a technology tranfer project CATALVALOR project - an innovative catalyst combined with a simplified process to convert multiple feedstocks into biodiesel. This project generated entrepreneurship awards (won the most important national entrepreneurship competition in Portugal, Acredita Portugal 2015: category Industry), a patent application and a start-up creation. Since March of 2015 she is co-founder of INNOVCAT LDA, a technology-based start-up, focus on R&D, production and commercialization of solid catalysts and innovative functional materials for industrial application in several areas especially, biomass valorization for biofuels and biobased materials. She was also awarded by Inocrowd as the winner solver for ¿the identification of possible usages of black liquor from Kraft process¿(2015). AFP has been collaborating on the co-supervision of BsC, MSc students, erasmus mundus and national PhD students and in scientific short training for young students. She is/was involved in several scientific dissemination and organization events. She was Jury member of academic degrees (3PhD, 5MSc and 6 BsC). She has been collaborating with national (iMed.ULisboa ) and Dep. Chem. Eng.-ISEL and international research centres including the Abo Akademic University-Finland (Prof. D. Murzin), UCT Prague-Czech Rep. (D. Kubicka), UDEL- Chile (R. Chimentão). @DQB-FCUP (2020-): Member of security commitee and Invited Professor (UC: Green chemistry and sustainable developement; Transferable skills: entrepreneurship and communication) . She is also invited lecture (since 2017) in summer school, SoSMSE: School on Science Management for Scientists and Engineers, Genoa, Italy; Participation as evaluator in Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2020). Currently she is Guest Editor in 3 special issues: Catalysts (2) - "Catalytic Sustainable Processes Using Carbonaceous Materials" and "Carbon Materials Applied for Biomass Conversion"; Materials (1): "Metallic Nanoparticles and Metal-Mediated Synthesis in Catalysis". Research interests: Waste (biomass) valorization; bioeconomy; biorefinery concept; biofuels; catalysis; sulfonic-acid solid catalysts; biochar-based materials. AFP recently concluded (2019) a short course in bioeconomy “Conducting Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): From theory to practical application” at University Central of London (UCL).
