Bio
Since graduating with Honours in Metabolic Physiology at Monash University, I have invested my time in both investigated-initiated and commercially-funded medical research. As an awardee of a PhD Scholarship from the prestigious NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence to Reduce Inequality in Heart Disease between 2014 to 2017, I worked within the Primary Care and Prevention Unit at the Mary MacKillop Institute for Health Research and Pre-Clinical Disease and Prevention Unit at the world-renown Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. The predominant research focus during my candidature has been the determinants of cardio-metabolic diseases in high-risk populations and health behaviour change.
During my candidature, I also held a position as the Clinical Research Officer at Monash Ultrasound for Women, a subsidiary of the Monash IVF Group; those responsible for the world's first IVF pregnancy. Through my work with Monash IVF Group, a collaboration between the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and Monash IVF focusing on infertility and cardiovascular health outcomes was established. This collaboration has lead to numerous award winning presentations and an opportunity to present internationally.
Most recently in 2018, I took up a Post-Doctoral Research Officer role within the Parent-Infant Research Institute at Austin Health managing clinical and translational perinatal research projects including a large, national implementation program of e-mental health services.
