Bio
Dr. András Iring has studied medicine at the Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. During his studies he was involved in the research of Prof. Dr. Zoltán Benyó, where they have studied the role of thromboxane receptors in the cerebral circulation.
After graduation, he has started his PhD research work at the Doctoral School of Basic Medicine at Semmelweis University, under the tutelage of Prof. Dr. Zoltán Benyó, in his laboratory at the Institute of Clinical Experimental Research. There, he was exploring the involvement of endocannabinoids in cerebral blood flow regulation. In 2013, he has joined the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Stefan Offermanns at the Max-Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research, Bad Nauheim, Germany, where he has investigated the role of G protein-coupled receptors in mechanotransduction and vascular tone regulation. They have successfully identified and described the involvement of the endothelial Gq/11–coupled receptor, P2Y2, and the endothelial Gs-coupled adrenomedullin receptor (CALCRL) in the control and maintenance of blood pressure.
Currently he is working as a senior research fellow in the Intitute of Experimental Medicine, Budapest, Hungary, investigating the involvement of centrally expressed Gi-coupled P2Y12R in Parkinsonism.
