个人简介
Ana Rito has done her Ph.D in “Nutrition and Public Health” at Escola Nacional de Saúde Publica/ Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (FIOCRUZ) (Brazil, 2004), certified by Universidade Nova – Lisboa, Portugal in 2006. She has done her Master Degree in “Medical Sciences - Human Nutrition” in the University of Sheffield (UK, 1996) and has a Bachelor degree in “Nutritional Sciences” at Faculdade de Ciências da Alimentação e Nutrição da Universidade do Porto (Portugal, 1991). She also attended several other Courses namely “Methods and Application in Health Services Research” at Harvard School of Public Health (USA, 2008).
Her professional path started at Fundação Bissaya Barreto (Coimbra, Portugal 1992-2008) as a nutritionist, being the Head of the Food and Nutrition Division. In 2007 she was invited to be a member of the Ministry of Health Portuguese delegation as the Vice President of the Scientific Committee of the “Platform Against Obesity” of the General Health Directorate an in 2008, a researcher at the National Institute of Health, Doutor Ricardo Jorge I.P. (INSA) where seheconcluded two Post-Docs, the latter being a position in EConDA project (http://www.econdaproject.eu/ ), a EU project (EU Second Health Programme Grant), lead by the UK Health Forum.
In 2012 Ana Rito became also the Director of the NGO CEIDSS, a center for studies and research in social dynamics and health where she has been developing several R&D projects aligned with the priorities of Health, bringing evidence for decision making, guided by the implementation of public health policies, namely to improve the health status of the population, emphasizing the protection and promotion of health and prevention of disease, examples of which are: the health education on nutrition, nutritional surveillance and intervention on health determinants.
Since 2007 she has been the Principal Investigator (PI) for Portugal, of the study "Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative – World Health Organization / Europe “ (COSI), the first European nutritional surveillance system where 39 countries are currently participating as well as a member of its European Advisory Board. Other scientific projects at international and national level include comprehensive Programs on childhood nutritional Status evaluation and food habits of scholar children at municipality level, namely: POZ (Programa Obesidade Zero) a program awarded with “Nutrition award for best Public Health project” and the “Award of the best scientific Project Fundação Astrazeneca - Programa de apoio à Investigação” and the ongoing Program MUN-SI (www.mun-si.com) the portuguese program that integrates an International Network which has the institutional support of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education and Science, extending up to 29 Portuguese municipalities from the Portuguese Network of Healthy cities. On this behalf, Ana Rito is currently the PI, in Portugal of the EU Horizon 2020 project CO-Create(2018-23), which aims to tackle childhood obesity and was also the PI for Portugal in the EU project OPEN (2014-16) , through a national program AMEAteens along with other 11 countries/community programmes. Led by EIN an European network, OPEN is an innovative project to scale up efforts to promote health in teenagers, aiming to reach almost four million people across Europe. Recently Ana Rito was engaged in the project “Eat Mediterranean”. The project coordenated by the Health Regional Directorate of Lisbon and Tagus Valley and funded by the European Economic Area (EEA) Grants, a community-based intervention programme with the aim of contributing to the reduction of nutritional inequalities towards 6000 children.
At international level collaboration, Ana Rito has been a member of the “European Network on Reducing marketing pressure on children” and the “Group of experts for technical advice on the School Fruit Scheme of the European Commission”, and has developed scientific/research collaboration with 29 international institutions in which, more recently included Copenhagen Business School, Denmark.
Between 2009 and 2013 she was the Head the Bachelor´s Degree in Nutrition Sciences of University Atlântica where she was also a Professor of Nutrition, between 2005-2014. In 2014, Ana Rito collaborated, as a consultant and guest lecturer, with Metropol University College (Denmark) and with University Lusófona (Portugal).
Furthermore, Ana Rito has been a reviewer of scientific journals, has large experience in post and graduation supervision and has participated in Juries of Post Graduation Degrees. She has published in scientific journals (+35) and presented in national and international conferences several papers and studies (+200), among other publications including scientific reports, book chapters, books and manuals (+10). She has been the President of the "International Conference on Childhood Obesity (CIOI 2005, CIOI 2011 and CIOI 2017 www.cioi2017.com )
