个人简介
I received my BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), one of the most prestigious engineering schools in Iran (Outstanding Student Award, four international awards in Robotics competition, co-founder of the Robotics Centre of IUT). Based on my Bachelor’s research on Robotics, I also co-founded the ROBOKIT company in 2004, producing the first educational robot kits in Iran (six different products with a total of 300,000 sales over ten years, one patent). In 2005, I was awarded the prestigious Japanese Government Research Scholarship (Monbukagakusho) to continue my Master’s study and I received my MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2008 from Yamaguchi University in Japan (one Japanese patent).
In 2008, I received a PhD scholarship from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and I continue my PhD in Civil Engineering (Computational Mechanics) at UPC. I received my PhD degree in 2012 (Cum Laude, premio extraordinario de doctorado, finalist of the SEMNI award to the best PhD thesis on Numerical Methods in Engineering in Spain, seven Q1 publications, 14 conference presentations, invited talk at MIT). Then, I made two postdoctoral stays at UPC (2012-2014) and Institut Català de Nanociència y Nanotecnología (2015-2016). Since 2016, I have been a Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UPC (AQU Lector accreditation in 2016). My student evaluations have always been higher than the university average, evidencing the high quality of my teaching.
I have been a researcher in one regional (AGAUR), two national (Plan Nacional) and three ERC (starting grant) projects. I have recently collaborated in two international projects with researchers in nanotechnology, ceramic science, and biomaterials which led to the world's first integrated flexoelectric microelectromechanical system on silicon (Nature Nanotechnology) and the discovery of flexoelectricity in bones (Advanced Materials). The latter discovery was covered by international and national media, such as ScienceDaily, El Periódico and La Vanguardia. I was also recently awarded with a mobility grant for a collaborative research stay at UNSW Sydney (Estancias de movilidad en el extranjero José Castillejo para jóvenes doctores 2018). I am the reviewer of 17 ISI journals.
