Amber Thompson joined Oxford Vaccine Group in 2010 as a Laboratory Research Assistant, processing, testing and managing samples across the many clinical trials being run. After gaining her BSc in Biochemistry she was a quality control scientist at a drugs of abuse testing company before moving into immunology at PowderMed (formerly Powderject, now part of Pfizer) where she was a preclinical research assistant, developing assays to test the immune response to influenza vaccines administered using a needle free delivery system. She is also a STEM Ambassador, doing voluntary work to inspire children about science in their everyday life or as a future career.
