Bio
Ally Y. Simba (S'01–M'06–SM'10) was born in Tanzania. He received the B.Sc.(Hons.) degree in electronics science and communication from the University of Dar es salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in 1998, and the M.E and Ph.D. degrees in electronics and information engineering from Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan, in 2003 and 2006, respectively.
From 2006 to 2011, he was an Expert Researcher with the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Tokyo, Japan, where he was involved in research in numerical analysis of the biomedical electromagnetic compatibility, measurements RF fields from mobile phone base stations, and issues on human exposure to RF fields. Since June 2011, he has been the Manager of Planning and Research with the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority, Dar es salaam, Tanzania.
Dr. Simba is a Chartered Engineer, registered with the U.K. Engineering Council. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, U.K., where he is serving as an International Professional Registration Advisor for Professional Registration from April 2011 to March 2014. He appears in Who's Who in Science and Engineering 2011–2012 (11th Edition). He was the recipient of the Japanese Government Scholarship (Monbusho Scholarship) (2000–2006)
