个人简介
I am a Research Fellow at the Department of Computing, Imperial College London. My principal research interests are in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, in particular the theory (e.g [8]), implementations (e.g [10]) and real-world applications (e.g [11]) of Logic-based Machine Learning (also known as Inductive Logic Programming). My current research interests also include:
Automated Scientific Discovery (e.g. automated discovery of food-webs using machine learning and text-mining)
Computational Systems Biology and Bioinformatics (e.g. systems biology of bacterial glycomes)
Machine Learning of Biological Networks (e.g. integrated machine learning of metabolic networks applied to predictive toxicology)
Genetic and Evolutionary Computation (e.g. a genetic algorithm approach to inductive logic programming)
Abductive ILP
Automatic Program Synthesis and Debugging
I am also coordinating the activities at Syngenta University Innovation Centre (UIC) at Imperial College funded by Syngenta (a world leading agribusiness and biotechnology company). I was actively involved in the definition as well as conducting the research projects at UIC and during the ecological modelling project we established a successful collaboration with domain experts within Imperial College (e.g. Silwood Park) and outside Imperial College (e.g. Rothamsted Research) and with international partners (e.g. INRA Dijon). The results of our research and collaborations led to several high impact journal publications (e.g. [3] in Advances in Ecological Research Journal, IF=6.3) and also provided the basis for follow-up grants and several student scholarships (MSc & PhD).
I completed my PhD degree at Department of Computing, Imperial College London where I also worked as a Research Associate. I have also contributed to the teaching and supervision at the department and have been involved in writing research grant proposals. I was an organising committee member and proceedings organiser and the editor for the 16th and 21st Int. Conf. on Inductive Logic Programming (ILP 2006 & ILP 2011). I have been a program committee member for the 22nd , 23rd, 24th and 25th Int. Conf. on Inductive Logic Programming (ILP 2012, ILP 2013, ILP 2014, ILP 2015). I have acted as a reviewer for Machine Learning Journal (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014), IEEE Trans. On Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (2012) and IEEE Trans. on Evolutionary Computation (2004).
