Bio
I am currently an Assistant Professor in the athletic training program at the University of Maine. I received my bachelor’s degree in athletic training from High Point University, and master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Connecticut. Prior to my role as Assistant Professor, I completed a two-year post-doctoral research fellowship at A.T. Still University dedicated to the development of a promising research line. While much of my prior scholarly work has focused on advocacy for the athletic training profession, I am now pursuing a research agenda around the role of unlearning in athletic health care, with a specific emphasis on its role in promoting evidence-based practice. Beyond teaching and research, I enjoy engaging in various service commitments, including being a member of the NATA Foundation’s Educational Resources Committee, filling the role as a peer reviewer for multiple peer-reviewed journals in the field, and serving as a member of the Korey Stringer Institute’s Medical and Science Advisory Board.
