She is member of the Negotiating Committee of the II Equality Plan of the University of Salamanca. She is also a member of the Women in Computing Committee of the Spanish Computing Scientific Society and sub-coordinator of the CLEI (Latin American Centre for Computer Science Studies) Community for Latin American women in computing. She is a member of IEEE (Women in Engineering, Education Society and Computer Society), ACM (and ACM-W) and AMIT (Spanish Association of Women Researchers and Technologists).
Her research is related to the development of technological ecosystems for knowledge and learning processes management in heterogeneous contexts, and the promotion of diversity and inclusion in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), with a particular focus on engineering and technology. Noteworthy the organisation and participation in a large number of international activities aimed at reducing the gender gap in STEM, including the "Women Researchers' Breakfast at the University of Salamanca", recognised by the University of Salamanca as a good practice in social responsibility and awarded the Gutenberg Award for scientific dissemination 2020 by CoxmoCaixa.
She has participated as technological support and coordinator in a large number of regional, national and international research projects, including TRAILER (Tagging, Recognition and Acknowledgment of Informal Learning Experience) (https://trailerproject.eu), VALS (Virtual Alliances for Learning Society) (https://virtualalliances.eu), CreaSTEAM (Co-thinking and Creation for STEAM diversity-gap reduction) (https://creasteamproject.eu), the H2020 project WYRED as part of the coordination and development team (https://wyredproject.eu) and the European cooperation project with Latin America W-STEM (https://wstemproject.eu). She is currently the coordinator at USAL of the Erasmus+ project SPADATAS (https://spadatas.eu), focused on security and privacy in academic data management at schools, and made coordination tasks in other projects such as INGAME (Gaming for Social Inclusion and Civic Participation - A holistic approach for a cultural shift in education and policy) (https://ingame.erasmus.site). Furthermore, she has participated in the definition and development of a large number of technological ecosystems, including the ecosystem to support the internal processes of the company Aqua Development Network and the knowledge management ecosystem of INAP (National Institute of Public Administration).
In terms of scientific production, she is Associate Editor of the IEEE Revista Iberoamericana de Tecnologías del Aprendizaje and the Revista Facultad de Ingeniería. She has more than 170 international publications in scientific journals and conferences, many of them indexed in JCR and SCOPUS.
