个人简介
Engr. Dr. Arslan Dawood Butt received his B.Sc Electrical Engineering degree with distinction from EME College, NUST Pakistan in 2010. He immediately enrolled for M.Sc Electronic Systems Engineering in Politecnico di Milano, Italy and attained his Master’s degree in 2012. He later pursued his PhD degree in the field of “Silicon Based Radiation detection systems” from the same university and was awarded PhD degree with Merit in 2016. During his MS and PhD, Dr. Butt worked on international projects sponsored by European Space Agency, the European Commission and the Instituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) Milan section. The main theme of Dr. Butt’s research was system level development, testing and characterization of Silicon Drift Detector Arrays to form prototype X- and Gamma- ray spectrometer and imaging system for associated applications in Nuclear Physics research, Gamma-ray astronomy and Medical Imaging. During this phase, Dr. Butt published multiple works in ISI indexed journals and attended conference in US.
Not satisfied with his pursuit of knowledge and excellence, he later started his post doc from Politecnico di Milano in the field of “Solid-State Radiation detection systems for various high-tech applications”. Here, Dr. Butt expanded his expertise to other solid-state radiation detectors like CdZnTe for a project associated with US Department of Energy. For other works, on behalf of INFN and his research group, Dr. Butt visited and took part in experiments taking place in Switzerland and Japan.
In 2017, Dr. Butt joined Department of Electrical Engineering, Government College University Faisalabad as an Assistant Professor to pursue a career of teaching and research in Pakistan. In GCUF, Dr. Butt has changed his field of research to motion tracking and wearable sensors for augmented reality applications. In 2018, Dr. Butt also secured an HEC funded grant to support his research. During his work on wearable sensors, Dr. Butt expanded is expertise on wearable and flexible antennas for motion sensing and tracking applications. Dr. Arslan has also been involved in research works associated study and development of non-invasive methods and techniques to optimize energy efficiency performance of PV panels post fabrication.
