Bio
The research group of "Vertebrate Organ Development and Function", led by Professor Alfred Nordheim, focuses on the molecular genetics of vertebrate (mouse, human) organ development, organ function and pathological organ dysfunction.
A recent focus of the group's research activities has been directed at cancer biology. Specifically, a mouse model for liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma, HCC) progression has been developed and is currently being analyzed by multi-omics techniques.
