Alfred Andama

Alfred Andama received the Diploma degree in medical laboratory technology, the Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical laboratory technology, the master’s degree in laboratory science and management, and the Ph.D. degree in medical microbiology focused on tuberculosis (TB) diagnostics from Makerere University in 2000, 2007, 2012, and 2021, respectively. He joined Makerere University service in 2000 as a Technical Assistant, and has since grown through the ranks to become the Chief of Teaching Laboratories with the Department of Internal Medicine. He is a Medical Laboratory Technologist and the Chief of Teaching Laboratories with the Department of Internal Medicine, Makerere University College of Health Sciences. His research interests focus on evaluating TB diagnostics, either in their early or late stage of development, as well as testing completed diagnostic tools in clinical settings in order to gain real world experience.
