个人简介
Alexis Ceecee Britten-Jones (formerly Alexis Ceecee Zhang), is a clinician-researcher at the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences and the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Melbourne. Her research foci are investigating the genetic and phenotypic characteristics of inherited retinal diseases and developing clinical outcomes for gene therapy clinical trials.
Ceecee completed her Bachelor of Optometry at the University of Auckland, where she graduated with First Class Honours and was awarded both a Senior Scholar Award and a Dean’s Medal. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Melbourne. Her PhD research evaluated changes in corneal nerves in diabetic neuropathy and clinical applications of omega-3 fatty acids for improving peripheral nerve health in diabetes. Ceecee’s broader research interests include clinical trial design, systematic reviews and evidence synthesis, ocular nutrition, and clinical imaging of the eye.
Ceecee is a 2021-2022 veski Victoria Fellow. Her other affiliated engagements include being a steering committee member of the Cochrane Collaboration Early Career Professionals group and mentor to students and clinicians.
