I am Alessandro Riggio, I am Italian but I have lived in Spain since 2010. I have four and a half years of experience in academic research in the fields of Economics and, during the last years, I expanded my knowledge into the field of human healthcare. I studied in five different universities between Italy and Spain and I had the opportunity to use my skills during my previous work experience at the Regional Government of Andalusia, as a Political and Economic Advisor at the Ministry of Knowledge, Research and University. I received a bachelor’s degree in "International and Political Relations" at the University of Palermo, Faculty of Political Sciences, and I continued my studies in Florence, at the Faculty of Political Sciences “Cesare Alfieri” where I obtained a master’s degree in “International Relations”. After a short research period at the “Università Politecnica delle Marche”, in November 2011 I moved to Spain to start my PhD studies at the University of Seville, Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences. I got my PhD in Economics in 2015. During my academic career in Palermo and Florence, I studied sociology, history, economics, and political sciences of course. I finished my bachelor’s degree with an average mark of 30/30 with 11 cum laude , and I achieved an average mark of 29,5/30 with 13 cum laude during my master’s degree (according to the Italian evaluation system). During my doctoral studies, I carried out a four-year research study about the tendencies of late capitalism. I analysed the social and economic development of our societies, in order to explore the macroeconomic movements and the social tendencies that led us to the crisis of 2007. My studies in Political Sciences and my PhD in economics, along with my previous work experiences make me a socio-economist with an appropriate academic background in social studies.
