个人简介
Dr. Ghidini specializes in treating pregnant women with complications due to pre-existing maternal conditions, such as diabetes or hypertension, or whose pregnancies have increased risks for adverse outcomes for a number of reasons, including previous pregnancy complicated by preterm delivery, preeclampsia, or poor fetal growth; twins; in-vitro fertilization; fetal abnormalities; gestational hypertensive disorders or gestational diabetes. “Any pregnancy with serious complications leads to a huge sense of loss; efforts to detect the causes for the adverse outcomes experienced and helping women strategize to prevent recurrences and optimize outcome can provide some relief.”
After a lifetime of research, Dr. Ghidini is currently focused on making the delivery environment safer for pregnant women and their babies by chairing the Obstetric Safety Committee, which reviews every case of adverse obstetric outcomes. He has been recognized as one of the best doctors in the state of Virginia by his peers and he teaches as professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He collaborates with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine in the writing of national guidelines. Dr. Ghidini does not currently perform deliveries.
