Bio
Alberto Martín Jiménez obtained his BSc in Physics at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) in 2013. He was awarded a scholarship for initiation of research in Nanoscience in the same year and obtained his MSc in Condensed Matter and Nanotechnology in 2014. Alberto Martín Jiménez received his Ph.D. in 2018, where he designed and built a setup to collect the light emitted from a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) to study electronic and optical properties at the nanoscale. In 2019, he moved to the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart, Germany, where he actively participated in the development of the first time-resolved STM that has captured electron dynamics in molecules with sub-femtosecond resolution. In 2021 he received a Humboldt Fellowship. His current research focuses on the study of ultrafast dynamics at its natural space and time scales by combining ultrafast optics and scanning tunneling microscopy.
