Career Trajectory
Bio
Felipe Carreño López obtained his degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Santiago (USACH, Chile) in 2017 and carried out his final project at the University of the Andes (UAndes, Chile) in the development of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations applied in the scale-up of a batch reactor used in hydrothermal carbonization processes.
In 2018, Felipe joined the Green Technology Research Group (University of the Andes, Chile) as Ph.D. student and in 2019 he also joined the Institute of Sustainable Processes (University of Valladolid, Spain) as a predoctoral researcher under a co-supervision regime.
Currently, his research focuses on the hydrodynamic study of the impact of the resulting gas-liquid interface over the biofilm formation in biotrickling filtration of VOCs thought Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations coupled with Computed Tomography (CT).
