Alba Trueba-Santiso

The driver of my research career has always been understanding the diverse microbial mechanisms involved in the biotransformation of water pollutants and how this knowledge can be applied to achieve a cleaner environment through biotechnological applications. My set of technical skills includes microbiology and molecular biology techniques, physico-chemical analyses, and environmental engineering applications (e.g., bioreactor operation and in-situ bioremediation). I found my scientific passion in environmental proteomics. During my education and career, I have lived in five different countries, and I have often worked in multicultural teams. I consider myself flexible, with initiative, and oriented towards solutions relevant for society. Throughout my past experiences, I acquired strong skills for the management of projects, resources, and time. Additionally, I am experienced in grant and project writing as well as in the roles of evaluator, academic supervisor, and mentor.
