His research primarily focuses on electrocatalysis and electrochemical processes associated with water electrolysis, electrolyte and electrolyzer engineering, and treatment of water/wastewater. This work also includes engineered osmosis for water desalination and osmotic energy harvesting, advanced oxidation and reduction processes, electrocoagulation, innovative extensions of lime softening for removal of a wide range of contaminants, and desalination pretreatment and brine management.
