Dr. Ahmed Abdala is Professor in the Chemical Engineering Program at Texas A&M University at Qatar. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University. Dr. Abdala research focuses on polymers, nanomaterials, and nanocomposites including functional polymer nanocomposites, 2D nanomaterials, anticorrosion coatings, polymeric membranes for gas separation and water treatment, and nanohybrids of metal/metal oxides and 2D carbon nanomaterials for catalysis, adsorption, energy storage, and thermoelectric materials. He published 85 peer-reviewed journal articles, 8 book chapters, and 22 refereed conference papers (H-index = 35, total citations = 15150). He is also the inventor of 8 US patents. Dr. Abdala is the recipient of the Distinguished Researcher Award from the Indian Association of Solid-State Chemists and Allied Scientists (ISCAS) in 2019, and Qatar Excellence in Innovation Award from Clarative Analytics in 2016, “Science Lantern Faculty Award from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in 2014.
