Bio
Ágúst Valfells (Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 2000. His thesis work was on multipactor discharge.
From 2000 to 2003, he was a Research Associate with the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA, where he worked on the University of Maryland Electron Ring and modeling of secondary electron emission for a library of codes for depressed collector design. Subsequently, he worked at the National Energy Authority of Iceland, Reykjavík, Iceland, where he was responsible for a platform to reduce fossil fuel use in the transport. Since 2005, he has been with the Department of Engineering, Reykjavík University, Reykjavík, where he is currently a Professor. His current research interests are in diode physics, geothermal reservoir modeling and electron emission modeling.
