Bio
Adi Hajj-Ahmad (Member, IEEE) received the B.E. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the American University of Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon, in 2011, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2015 and 2016, respectively.
He spent three years as a Senior Data Scientist at GE Digital addressing statistical, machine learning, and data understanding problems for industrial customers in different industries. He is currently a Senior Data Scientist with Amazon in Sunnyvale, CA, USA, growing Alexa’s Natural Language Understanding capabilities in the Local Information space. His research interests include signal processing, information forensics, machine learning, and natural language processing. He received the Dean’s Graduate Fellowship in 2011, the Distinguished Teaching Assistant Award in 2013, the Northrop Grumman Graduate Fellowship in Engineering Education in 2015, the Invention of the Year Award in 2015, and the Jimmy Lin Award for Innovation in 2016, all from the University of Maryland. He was a recipient of the Best Student Paper Award at the ACM Workshop on Information Hiding and Multimedia Security in 2015. He was a member of the organizing team of the third edition of the IEEE Signal Processing Cup in electric network frequency forensics in 2016. Since January 2020, he has been a member of the IEEE Information and Forensics Technical Committee.
