个人简介
Adelaide C. Braga is an Invited Assistant Professor at Biological Engineering Department (DEB) at University of Minho (UM). She received her Integrated Master Degree in Biological Engineering in 2009 and her PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering in 2014 from the UM. In 2015-2016, she got a post-doctoral position (contract) at Biotempo Ltd., under the EU funded project BachBerry. In 2017-2019, she was a post-doctoral research fellow at CEB-UM. Between 2019-2021, she was a Junior Researcher at Centre of Biological Engineering (CEB) under the scope of the FoSynbio project, that aims to use synthetic biology approaches to genetically modify Z. mobilis to produce prebiotics from agro-industrial by-products and further optimize the bioprocess. Her current research interests are the development of sustainable and novel bioprocesses, the use of molecular and synthetic biology tools to develop microbial cell factories able to produce added-value compounds, scaling-up bioprocesses, bioprocesses sustainability under the circular economy concept and well aligned with the EU Green Deal and the research translation into industrial settings and economic viability of these processes. Since 2014, she has been an Invited Assistant Professor at DEB teaching several courses to the Degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering, Master in Biotechnology, Master in Biomedical Engineering, Master in Chemical and Biological Engineering and Master in Plant Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and Bioentrepreneurship. She published 21 original peer reviewed papers in international journals (4 as corresponding author, 17 as first author, plus 3 under review and 3 in preparation) with an accumulated impact factor (IF) of 82 (h=12, 314 citations in Scopus and h=12 and 284 in ISI), 3 book chapter (plus 2 under review). Adelaide Braga presented her work in 16 oral communications (6 as presenting author, 1 of this invited) and 19 posters ( 8 as presenting author). She supervised/co-supervised 4 MSc students, 2 MSc internships at companies, 3 bachelor's degree projects and 3 MSc projects. She is tutoring 2 PhD student (ongoing) and 3 MSc students. Adelaide Braga has participates/participated in 6 funded projects (3 ongoing) by FCT and European Commission (Contract Research/Research Fellow in 3 projects and team member in 3 projects). She has been collaborating with some recognised international institutions, namely University of Vigo, Technical University of Denmark, Forschungszentrum Julich, Delft University of Technology. She helped to secure funding by actively contributing as a bioprocess development expert in the writing of project proposals, and two of them were granted (B3iS- PTDC/BII-BIO/5554/2020; FCT/NKFIH, 2017/2018). She is an evaluator for different funding agencies (e.g., German Federal Ministry of Education and Research). She is reviewer of several international peer reviewed journals (38 papers). She participated in member of the jury of 5 master dissertations, 2 as external examiner. Adelaide also participated in 16 dissemination of knowledge activities at CEB-UM with the goal of encouraging students to pursue a career in science and in the organisation of one workshop in biotechnology field.
