Abdullah F. Rahman received the Ph.D. degree in hydrology and remote sensing from the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, USA, in 1996. He is currently a Professor at the School of Earth, Environmental, and Marine Sciences, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), Brownsville, TX, USA. He is a member of the Blue Carbon Scientific Working Group, an international group of researchers studying carbon in coastal ecosystems of seagrasses, mangroves, and tidal salt marshes. Before joining UTRGV, he was an Associate Professor at Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, USA. His expertise is on the use of remote sensing for studying carbon stocks and fluxes of ecosystems.
