Career Trajectory
Bio
I am a Professor of Food Technology at the School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Currently, I'm teaching 3 courses at undergraduate level: Physical Properties of Foods, Food Ingredients and Chemistry & Technology of Starch, Fats/Oils.
In 2002, I received the inaugural USM Excellent Educator Award and Hall of Fame Award under the same category from the university. I'm also the recipient of Anugerah Akademik Negara (National Academic Award) 2008 for teaching category.
I have great interest in using the Internet as an alternative medium for learning and teaching. I have developed a comprehensive e-learning course/portal on the subject of food science & technology as well as on the topics of using technology in teaching-learning, and higher education.
I have published more than 130 papers (h-index 23) in international citation-indexed journals and several book/encyclopedia chapters.
