Professor Stebner is known for his interdisciplinary work at the core of mechanical engineering, such as developing new characterization and data analysis capabilities to study in situ deformation and fabrication of materials, and integrating data informatics and machine learning to accelerate the discovery, development and optimization of mechanical models and Manufacturing process. He is also known for integrating the latest fundamental scientific discoveries into practical, usable tools for innovative engineering applications for companies and governments
