Bio
Dr. Ternamian is currently the Director of the Gynecologic Endoscopy Fellowship program at St. Joseph’s Health Centre-Toronto. He completed his residency training at the University of Toronto and obtained his Royal College Certification in 1981. He restricts his practice to Gynecologic Endoscopy and consults to industry.
As a founding member of the Society of Gynecologic Endoscopists of Canada, and a Board Member of the International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy, he is involved in continuing medical education and is faculty with the Surgical Complications of Pelvic Endoscopy Risk Management program for the SOGC.
Dr. Ternamian has developed several internationally patented endoscopic systems and is an invited surgeon and speaker all over the world. He is on the editorial board of a number of peer-reviewed publications, and has contributed to General Surgical and Gynecologic Endoscopy textbooks. He was Canadian representative to

Recently, the Laparoscopic Trocar Injury report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Centre for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) System Technology Assessment of Medical Products (STAMP) Committee admitted that the Ternamian Optical port method could greatly reduce inadvertent laparoscopic entry injuries.
